Florida is getting inspired with Ally Ford's healing practice of Ashtanga yoga. Her students are improving their health, well-being and their outlook on life. Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient practice, taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, that synchronizes the breath with a series of postures.
Ally focuses much of her time helping corporate professionals incorporate yoga techniques into their hectic lives to relieve stress and maintain a balanced life.
Ally leads yoga classes, focused workshops and retreats, and study programs around the world. Her study program is the premier vinyasa-based yoga program in the Tampa Bay area. It gives aspiring yoga teachers the knowledge and tools they need to lead a safe yoga practice for others, and do so effectively and confidently.
Ally is also the author of a children's book Garuda, The Eagle Who Soared With Ahimsa. In the story, Garuda, an eagle who would normally eat other animals, decides to practice ahimsa and treat others with love. The entire story can be acted out in a yoga class for children and photos of the poses accompany the book.
WHY DO YOU THINK FLORIDA IS FAB?
The beaches, of course! We are so lucky to get to frequent some of the most pristine beaches and water in the U.S. And Florida wildlife is amazing. I love waking up early to the symphony of birds in our trees, and I'll never get tired of seeing dolphins and sting rays in the ocean.
FAVORITE FLORIDA SPOT
There are so many beautiful and fun places to visit in Florida, so it's hard to narrow it down. My family loves our local Clearwater Beach and Honeymoon Island. We also enjoy Miami, the Florida Keys, and the parks in Orlando.
